Zurkhaneh means the house of strength, generosity, gallant spirit, the love of one's country combined with art and literature. It is an ancient traditional sport of Iran. The history of Zurkhaneh Sport goes back to more than 3000 years ago. It is the combination of both physical and spiritual skillfulness. Zurkhaneh sports improve the physical abilities and develop moral values. People of all ages from small kindergartener to octogenarians can be involved in this game. Besides Iran, this game is widely popular in countries like Iran, Syria, Iraq, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgizistan, South Korea, Kazakhstan and other countries of West and Central Asia.

Now Zurkhaneh is not merely an Iranian sports. It is a gift to mankind by the Persians (Iranians) in the same way as the English have gifted soccer. Now chess is not Russian or Table Tennis is no Chinese. The world is narrow thanks to "No American" IT. The achievements are shared globally. The narrow boundary of nations can no longer block the spread of science and music, sports and arts and so on. We have the Olympic Games (not so 'Greek'), Asian Games, the World Cups of different games, Inter University Games and so on. And we also have IZSF that organizes the World Cups like Fajr Cup Championship and Asian Tournaments. Now Iran has taken the initiative and is also leading for the cause of Zurkhaneh Sports. For this, there are different International, Regional and National Committees under the banner of International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation.
