Zurkhaneh Sports is developing rapidly in Nepal. NZSA is now one of the 65 associations under the banner of the National Sports Council. It now has district level associations in 15 districts covering all the development regions. Considering the fact that Zurkhaneh sports is growing in terms of organizational level and the achievement of Zurkhaneh sports in Nepal,the visiting delegation of high level executives from the International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation (IZSF) which included Mr. Seyed Amir Husseini, Srcretary General, Mr. Seyed Abdullah Sajadi, Head of the technical committee, and Mrs. Maryam Abedini, Director, Foreign Affairs Committee, in a meeting with Nepal Zurkhaneh Sports Association decided the Second Asian Zurkhaneh Sports Championship to be held on 22-27 July 2008 in Katmandu.

An MOU(Memorandum of Understanding) in this regard was signed in Katmandu. Mr. Seyed Amir Husseimi Secretary General on behalf of the IZSF and Mr. Karna Bahadur Shahi, president of NZSA on behalf of Nepal Zurkhaneh Sports Association signed the MOU. More than 20 countries of Asia will participate in this Historic Sporting Mega Event in Nepal. It is also decided that the girls' team from Nepal and India also are participating in this tournament for the first time in the history of Zurkhaneh sports as Demonstration Game which will eventually pave the way for their (women's) participation in the games later.
